About

Initiated by Sunjin Kim (San Francisco, USA) and Seoyoon Lim (Buyeo, South Korea), mohm produces a unique range of home and personal goods that are rooted in Korean tradition, recontextualized for the contemporary lifestyle.

Established in Buyeo, a small provincial town that was once the capital of the Baekje dynasty known for arts, crafts, and science. With many historical areas designated as Unesco world heritage sites, Buyeo serves as one of the main sources of inspiration for mohm.

Handcrafted by local artisans, mohm products are built on quality and sustainable design. From concept to execution, every detail has been carefully considered and executed.

Mohm’s objective is to educate and share stories of artisans that continue to dedicate their lives to their enduring crafts. Furthermore, we hope to preserve and revitalize the Korean aesthetic through reinterpretation; through designs that are not only relevant for a contemporary lifestyle but also to create designs that blur cultural boundaries and promote openness and awareness.

From textile to ceramics, mohm explores and experiments with materials and designs that are intricate personifications of both art and craftsmanship.

Pronounced as mo-hm. The name embodies both our design philosophy and aspirations.

m (mi-gham)
Aesthetic: Elevates how we feel, how we behave.

o (oh-gham)
Five senses: How we experience our world. We are our bodies.

h (ho-gham)
Curiosity/inspiration: Our investigative nature/interests.

m (ma-um)
From the heart: Sense of humanity/empathy – Human values.

The literal translation of the word “mohm” means body in Korean. The word not only suggests a body of work but it also connotes how we experience our world, through our senses and body.
